A fragrant plant oil that, depending on the species, can contain dozens of volatile compounds that have a known or potential risk to sensitize skin; however, several of these fragrant compounds also have health benefits, including antioxidant benefit, when ginger oil is consumed via food as part of your diet. Therefore, ginger oil isn’t ideal for skin but can absolutely have benefit if you routinely include small amounts of fresh ginger in your diet.
