Why is it different?
RESIST Smoothing Primer Serum SPF 15 is a lightweight, silky primer serum that combines SPF 15 sun protection with a mix of plant-based, soothing antioxidants known to safeguard skin from environmental damage. But that’s just the beginning, because this anti-ageing primer also beautifully enhances makeup application and wear, so you’ll see better-looking skin and makeup.
What does it do?
Prevents premature ageing and contains antioxidants green tea, coffee seed, and chamomile to help defend against the visible effects of pollution and environmental attack. This unique formula’s silky serum texture softly blurs fine lines and large pores for a younger-looking, smoother complexion.
How to use
For full sun protection, apply liberally and then apply your foundation. For use just as a primer, apply a pea-sized amount to face over your daytime moisturiser with sunscreen or under your foundation with sunscreen.

Great Primer with sun protection

My daughter and I have been using this product for a month and find it really good. I usually wait a minute or two before applying foundation or powder. Love the SPF15 protection!

Perfect Primer!

Onto my 3rd tube of this wonderful product. An absolute dream to apply and wear there's simply no excuse not to wear sunscreen whe it feels this good! Makes your skin look smoother even without makeup. I would LOVE to see this in a bigger tube please! If Paula would bring back her pressed powder with SPF I'd be all set.

Lovely primer

I have never written a review before but had to after receiving this as a gift with one of my purchases. This primer has worked for me. I have used many primers in various price ranges and I seem to inevitably end up with clumping and balling of my foundation once applied, to the point I've just stopped using them. However, unlike a previous review (I feel your pain Freckles of Melbourne!) this didn't happen to me with this primer (I use Nars sheer glow foundation or alternate with La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL BB spf 50 cream). The primer is silky smooth and fast absorbing and doesn't have that sun screen feel some spf products can have. I will purchase this product again. Thanks PC!

Awesome primer!

I love this primer! It feels just like the other PC serums. Glides beautifully onto my combo skin. The best primer I have used so far. It works brilliantly for my skin - giving me a much more polished look when worn under my makeup with my makeup lasting all day. No breakouts! I'm about to order my second tube! Although I wish it would last longer (used almost daily for 2-3mths)

Great sunscreen, albeit pricey

Firstly, I don't use foundation so I can't comment as to this product's effectiveness as a primer for makeup. However, as a sunscreen it's fabulous - albeit pricey (price per ml is much higher than Paula's other sunscreens). It goes on smoothly, dries quickly and feels lovely. I'm saving it for special occasions where I want to look my best but also need sunscreen.

Fantastic! One of Paula's Best!

I have been using Paula's skin care products for over 10 years and I really love this product- I think it is one of Paula's best. I live under the harsh Australian sun and am always applying and reapplying my sunscreen, especially in the summer. Since Paula has discontinued her SPF foundations, especially her Barely There Foundations, I have been searching for a good SPF foundation, as we don't have here the alternative ranges that are available in the States. Or have Paula's SPF foundations only been discontinued in Australia, yet are still available in the States? As I can't get a Paula SPF foundation here, I was trying the tinted invisible zinc range. I have always like the ingredients of this range, but have found it very heavy to wear. However, when I apply Paula's SPF primer first, I find it seems to smooth, spread and even out the application of the invisible zinc, so that it does not go on to the skin so heavy. Combined with this, Paula's primer gives me the natural look that I am after- almost similar to Paula's Barely There Foundation- and it doesn't take long to apply. Paula's primer seems to last all day and keep the second applications of the heavy SPF foundation sheer too. And I still feel as though I am getting a very good sun coverage. I do find that it can make my concealer become thin, though, where the concealer meets the primer around the bottom of my eye socket. But I don't really find this too much of a problem. I do find it expensive, but only a very small amount of this product seems to go a really long way, so in this way, the price is really not too bad either. Thank you for this amazing product, Paula- and please bring back your SPF foundations!!

Silky feel but seems to pill on me

I got a travel size of this and was excited to try it since I love all things PC. (Their products make up 99% of my skincare routine.) Unfortunately, this was a huge letdown for me. I love the idea of it - a silky primer with sunscreen - but every way I tried it I encountered terrible pilling, whichever product/s I had underneath. I was even careful not to rub on my foundation - gently patting instead. Any tips or thoughts from a PC rep or other customers?

blends in nicely

This is a nice light weight product and hard to believe it has SPF in it. I tried it before the Resist anti ageing foundation and I didn't find there was much difference in being a smooth serum. There is a similar Elf Primer product that I own at $13 a fraction of the price that I feel is the same (except for the SPF). I probably wouldn't buy this again, it was ok, not amazing

Nice, but not great

I bought the sample a month or so ago and have been using it alone, and under a powder foundation or a dewy BB cream. It goes on really smoothly, feels really light and non-greasy, which is all nice. I don't feel like it does anything as a primer though - I tried it a couple of weekend days on just half of my face and seriously couldn't tell any difference with my makeup at the end of the day. As a serum with a sunscreen element, sure; as a primer to keep my make-up staying put or minimising shine on my combination skin, I don't think it did much. And at this price, I'm not convinced that it's worth buying just as another serum. In short - I won't buy it again.

Doesn't work for me

This primer feels just as smooth as the paula's choice serums and is easy to spread a small amount over the entire face. I have sensitive skin and it even calmed some of the redness on my cheeks more or less instantly. I have had this primer for a few months now and I've tried it with several different liquid foundations from nars, chantecaille, stila, hourglass, eve lom, laura mercier and loreal with fairly similar results. It seems to make the foundations split, go patchy and ball up. I have tried various make up application methods gently patting beauty blender, brushes, silisponge and hands. I have tried with and without setting sprays (urban decay, nyx and elf) and setting powders (laura mecier, nars, elf, chantecaille). According to the info on this website I should be able to layer most paula's choice skincare products with a few exceptions that are mentioned. I follow the recommended routine with my cleanser, toner, serum, moisturiser and then primer but perhaps even these thin layers are building up too much and creating the balling up effect. Would someone be able to get back to me on that theory? I'm in my 20s but I have smile lines, fine lines around the eyes and few enlarged pores on my cheeks, so I need the moisturiser and primer to help keep my foundation from creasing and exacerbating the fine lines. This primer did not help with that at all compared to putting on foundation without a primer. I will say that this primer works better with powder foundations and I haven't noticed any texture patchiness problems. It still doesn't prevent creasing and settling in to fine lines though. However, my personal preference is for the more sheer dewy look achieved with liquid foundations. I really wanted this primer to work for me, I like that it has the skincare benefits and some spf. I feel that I have really given this a good try now but it just isn't suitable for me. I'd love to hear back about any tips to make it work thanks -
