Does not meet expectations

By Jaz

from Melbourne

About Me Beauty Expert

Pros

  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Feels drying
  • Not Effective
  • Tint is too light for tan-deep skin

Best Uses

  • Daily Use
  • Uneven Skin Tone

I have combination skin but I think this moisturizer is more suited for oily skin as the parts of my face that are normal felt very dry and not smooth at all. Overall, it did not feel moisutrising at all. I also have quite tan skin and the tint is too light despite its appearance. In some lights, I could see a distinct line between my neck and the moisturiser.

Broke me out...

By Rosie

from NZ

Pros

  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Irritates Skin
  • Not Effective

Best Uses

I was so excited about using this after reading all the reviews, especially as the SPF was exactly what i was looking for. Unfortunately, this product first dried out my skin (which is unusual as i have oily acne prone skin) and also blocked my pores :( after giving it a go multiple times i found that there was really no way to use this without breaking out!

I like this product a lot, but just realized that the description on the website does NOT say that it is broad-spectrum. Instead it is described as a moisturiser with "mineral-based SPF protection." Is this product broad-spectrum? If it is, it would be helpful to have that clearly stated on the website description. Thanks!

Comments about RESIST Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30 - 60 ml:

I have all the PC mineral sunblocks (resist cellular/redness relief/hydralight) and i am on the second bottle of wrinkle defence spf 30.. I have normal-sensitive skin and cannot use chemical sunscreens like avobenzone or octisalate etc... This dries the skin and color is quite horrible but ok as tinted daily sunblock with antioxidants. However, i can not use just this because the spf is that high enough... Most of the Australian spf 30 sunblocks have 20% Zinc Oxide (220mg/g). I am not sure if 13% zinc oxide can be fully spf 30 in aus... I had to combine this with other sunblock because during the last summer it could not protect my skin from getting the brown spots and freckles. Overall, This is ok and the finishing texture is far better than other current Paula's choice's mineral sunblocks.. but i think Barely There Tinted Moisturizer was so much better for me which is now discontinued .... Dear Paula, now you have discontinues the cellular defence spf 30.... Please please please bring "mineral tinted moisturizer" for "dry to normal skin" people in the future.....

Comments about RESIST Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30 - 60 ml:

This is a great spf moisturiser as it doesn't irritate my sensitive, dry combination skin.

However, I can only use a little and not all over as it's too dark and pink against my pale skin tone and neutral-warm colouring.

Also, spf15 is simply too little protection for our ozone layer, and who has time to re-apply every 2hrs?

Would appreciate if they neutralised the tint, or made it more sheer--though I understand zinc can be a challenging mineral for invisible protection.

Comments about RESIST Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30 - 60 ml:

I have been searching for a great daily spf moisturiser for my problem skin for so long. I decided to try this when the resist products went on sale and I'm glad I did.
I suffer from very sensitive oily skin that is prone to break outs so it's very difficult to find products that don't flare up these issues.
It applies easily (I'm very pale and the tint blends in perfectly despite looking darker than my skin tone), and is non-greasy yet supplies just the right amount of moisture for my greaseball face. I haven't had any problems with breakouts.
I'd love if it came in a spf 30 version that I could wear when spending time outdoors.
The only con is the price - at full price it is quite expensive.

Comments about RESIST Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30 - 60 ml:

This is my favourite spf moisturizer! I have medium skin (nc30) and the tint does lighten my skin a little when I wear it alone. I use this as my base under foundation instead of primer and it works well. It also mixes well with foundation to custom create tinted moisturiser. I have very sensitive skin and don't react to this at all, I can put this around my eyes with no problem. It sinks in quickly and is mattifying through the day but isn't drying. The only con is it doesn't have enough moisture for me by itself - I use the Calm normal to dry moisturizer underneath this, but I prefer this over the Skin recovery spf moisturizer which was too greasy for me.

Comments about RESIST Super-Light Daily Defense SPF 30 - 60 ml:

I would love to see the shade range of this product extended to include the very pale, and darker than tan. I enjoyed how this sunscreen performed, but I had to put it all down my neck and chest, where I'd usually use a different sunscreen, because if I only used it on my face I'd look ridiculous. I'm quite fair, and the lightest shades of 99% of products out there are too dark, sadly including this one! I'm using a different product for the time being, which is unfortunate because I'd wanted to skip some steps in my routine by using a product with a little bit of coverage. If I kept using this I'd have to pale it down with more layers of stuff, which defeats the point.
