I love this retinol!

This product was a huge help with the under eye wrinkles. Most retinol products you can't put under your eyes. This on is gentle, and potent enough to help.

Noticed the difference after only one day!

5

This is an excellent product - I saw the difference after only one day. I mix one pump's worth of product with my usual moisturiser, and it gives my skin a lovely, smooth, glowing look. Like some of the other reviewers here, I have tried the Clinical Retinol in the purple bottle, but as I aged and my skin became more sensitive, I found it was too harsh. This product is a great alternative, and I have found it suitable for my sensitive skin.

Paula's BEST product - indispensable for all skin concerns

5

I have never written a review before, but this product is too good to be true & P.C's BEST retinol. I have combo but mostly dry skin, which is also extremely acne-prone skin, as well as sensitive *NOTE: this delightful combo of afflictions is not the result of any products that I use, it was always like this, irrespective (except when I was on Roacutane many years ago, during which time it was dry due to that). In the winter NO amount of any type of moisturiser is sufficient for overnight, & I have tried them all: from chemist brands, to Clinique, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden etc. I do not know how, but this product is the best acne treatment AS WELL as the best dryness treatment, all without irritating the skin - I never had ANY peeling, tightness nor sensitivity from this! I use 2 pumps (not "drops") over the Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid at night, then mix 2 pumps into whatever moisturiser I'm using (type & quantity depends on the season). In the winter using an enormous amount of moisturiser - even mixed with oil - still results in waking up flaky, UNLESS I add those pumps of Resist 1% Retinol Booster, then I wake up to DEWY & smooth skin, with less blackheads (most of my acne is gone now thanks to this): it makes that much difference. Plus, being a BOOSTER you really can assess its affect because it allows you so much control (to modulate products you already use that you know DO address some of your concerns). P.C: Please for the love of God do NOT change the ingredients - the current combination allows it to be mixed with almost any other product (& to lighten texture). It also avoids EXCLUDING people - when you add a million albeit "good" ingredients there are people who then can't use it due to allergies or sensitivities - some people even have antibodies to molecules like Hyaluronic acid (Lupus sufferers for e.g). Both it & Niacinamide each make my skin burn, turn red & peel violently; between the two, I am excluded from so many of your products.

Retinol for the rest of us

5

This product works beautifully with my Paula's Choice moisturiser. I noticed the difference from Day 1; my skin looks smoother and more glowing. I had been getting great results with the Clinical Retinol in the purple bottle, but as I've aged my skin has become more sensitive - the 1% Booster is a great alternative for those of us with sensitive skin.

Holy Grail Retinol Product (and I've tried a lot)

5

I have done a lot of research on retinol and experimented with a lot of products, and this is my go-to retinol product. I'm shocked to see reviews that comment on it being harsh, as I've never had any irritation or negative reaction to this product at all, even from the first use (which is why I love it!). I do get a bit of peeling with the PC 1% Clinical Retinol, which is why I've settled on this one. I only trust PC for my otc retinol because they take the research seriously and package it with incredible care. If you're using a retinol product that is in a clear container exposed to light, you should probably shop elsewhere. Same goes for exposure to air. I totally trust the PC packaging 100%. I know this product can be used on its own, but I love that I can add it to my other serums. Because it is a light texture, I add it with my first layer of light watery serums, before I add the second layer of thicker serums (1x/day, before bed). I mix them together in the palm of my hand and than apply to my face. Any leftover goes on my neck, decolletage, and backs of my hands. Since beginning use 6+ months ago, my skin is brighter and more even-toned. Fine lines have reduced. I'm so excited to see what else it will do in the upcoming months/years, because I plan to continue using it as long as it is available! I don't think this is available in sample size, and it can be tough to to jump on an expensive product without having an option for samples, but I'm on the website tonight purchasing my third bottle (and I'm buying two tonight) - so it it might be worth it to take the chance! Save your box and insert in case you decide to return it for your $$ back, but I guarantee you won't!!

Not for every day if you have sensitive skin.

5

I'm 28 and this is the first retinol product I've ever used on my face (not including eye creams). If you have super sensitive skin this isn't great to use every day unless you want a one way ticket to dermatitis city, but alternating this with the 10% Niacinamide has made a huge difference in my fine lines and skin texture. I only add one drop to my CosRX Snail Mucin serum at night and that seems to be plenty. Will definitely repurchase this now that I've learned how to use it appropriately!

Effective

5

I found this retinol product less irritating than the one in the purple bottle (also 1%). It is very effective. After a year of using the 1% PC retinol products, I feel my face is looking younger.

Great everyday product

5

While I liked the Clinical 1% my psoriasis ridden, sensitive skin could not cope with regular use so I was keen to try another retinol product and this one is fantastic. As the above reviewer said it seems to help with almost any problem your skin may have. Most definitely recommend, especially for anyone who found the Clinical Retinol product to be too much of a good thing for their skin.

So thrilled with this!!!

5

I'm in my early fifties and have highly sensitive combination skin. I constantly try to balance my skin issues: dryness, irritation, rosacea redness, random hormonal breakouts, and those little hard white bumps with the funky medical name. It's a perpetual see-saw. (I give my background because if you're like me, I look for reviews from someone who has similar skin.) I actually bought two products together: Omega+ Complex Serum and Resist 1% Retinol Booster. (I'm putting this review under both products.) After cleansing and toning, I mixed together one pump of each and put it on my face and neck. It went on my face like silk; smooth and soft with absolutely no pulling at my skin at all. And I'm happy to say that I've had no issues since I started using this about two weeks ago. No breakouts, no burning, no reactive redness! I've even had compliments on my "glowing" skin! My face is smooth and soft, and the redness is calm. I'm so excited about these two products and am tossing all the other retinols that I've tried. And on that note, all other retinols have been too harsh for my skin. Paula, I didn't know this was your gentlest retinol until I saw it in a response to a review (or video) somewhere on your site. I wish I had known earlier. I'd have gone straight to this instead of trying a few of the other ones.

Game Changer

5

This product was an absolute game changer for me. Once I started using this, after a week I noticed a huge difference in my skin. My breakouts were healing faster and my skin tone was absolutely brighter. It's so lightweight and doesn't clog my pores. I think it is even helping my blackheads to be reduced!
