Learn more about our facial toners.

Antioxidants, soothing plant extracts and niacinamide help tone down oily skin and minimize pore size. Its exceptionally lightweight liquid formula feels weightless on skin but still provides high-quality hydration to diminish dry flaky areas of skin.

The bottle for this full-sized product is made from 96% recycled material (excluding cap and orifice reducer).

How To Use

STEP 2: CONTROL OIL

After cleansing, apply toner to a cotton pad and gently stroke over face and neck. Do not rinse. Follow with the rest of your morning or evening skin care routine. For daytime, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 15 or greater.

FAQs

What does toner do for skin?

Toners have many benefits for skin, such as replenishing and hydrating, providing essential antioxidants and removing leftover traces of makeup. Think of toner as a liquid moisturiser that provides a healthy base layer for the rest of your routine.

Is toner necessary?

Depending on your preferences, you might not need a toner, but once you try one, you’ll likely find it was the missing step you’ve been searching for. If you’re looking for an advanced system, a well-formulated toner will take your routine to the next level.

Which Paula’s Choice toner for oily skin should I use?

SKIN BALANCING Pore-Reducing Toner is a great option if you deal with oily skin and enlarged pores, although we do carry a few other toners for oily skin.

How are Paula's Choice toners different than other toners on the market?

All Paula's Choice toners are fragrance-free, packaged to maintain stability and contain no sensitising ingredients, such as denatured alcohol, menthol or citrus. Every toner is formulated with key antioxidants and skin-replenishing ingredients like niacinamide, which makes them suitable for even the most sensitive skin types.

If I am using Paula's Choice CLEAR collection, when should I apply the SKIN BALANCING Pore-Reducing Toner?

If you’re adding this to your anti-blemish routine, apply right after cleansing. Follow with your exfoliant, anti-blemish treatment and moisturiser.

What is the pH of Paula’s Choice Pore-Reducing Toner?

The pH of this toner is between 6-7.

What percent of niacinamide is in Paula's Choice Pore-Reducing Toner?

This pore-reducing toner contains 1% niacinamide, an amount that research shows can visibly refine enlarged pores, even out skin tone and provide antioxidant benefits.

Can I use other niacinamide products with the Pore-Reducing Toner?

Yes, you can use multiple niacinamide products in the same routine. If you have advanced concerns, like persistent dullness, enlarged pores or roughness with visibly lax pores (aka 'orange-peel texture'), you may want to try layering this toner under a serum or booster with a higher concentration of niacinamide.

Not sure if I will buy this again

This product is good to minimise pores but there is kind of weird smell. I'm not sure if I will buy this again maybe I'm going to finish my bottle.

    Makes me break out

I've had this toner for a while and I've been using it on and off, but it quickly became clear to me that it's causing me to break out. I love the lightweight, refreshing feel on my skin, and it feels great throughout the day, but after only a couple days of use I always notice that my skin breaks out and i get large pimples and my skin looks red and irritated. When I stop using it, this problem goes away. I don't think the product is bad, but it definitely doesn't work for my skin, and I wonder if the "pore reducing" effect is just clogging my pores and causing me to break out.

I will buy this product again

Historically I've found toners can cause my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin to flare. I tried this product as a freebie and it's by far the most effective toner I've tried. The impact on reducing my pores is amazing! I've been using Paula's Choice products for a while - this product has made a huge difference, my pores are nearly no longer visible. I will definitely buy this product again. I've also just brought the pore-reducing cleanser to try.
