This ultra-gentle mineral moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 30 visibly reduces redness & signs of irritation while being suitable for sensitive & rosacea-prone skin. With daily use, skin becomes less prone to visible signs of sensitivity that promote signs of aging.

The bottle for this full-sized product is made from 96% recycled material (excluding cap and orifice reducer).
How To Use

Use as the last step in your AM skin care routine. Apply liberally to your face and neck at least 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply as needed.

The CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 has a silky, lightweight, sheer texture and includes soothing ingredients like allantoin, and non-fragrant seed oils which were specifically chosen to protect those who experience sensitive or reactive skin. This product replaces both the CALM Redness Relief SPF 15 Mineral Moisturizer for normal/dry and oily/combination skin types due to its suitability for all skin types and impactful ingredient blend.

Will the CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 leave a noticeable white cast on my skin?

The CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 has a silky, light cream texture with a sheer finish. As with most untinted mineral sunscreens, some skin tones may see a slight white cast.

Why does the CALM collection have only one daytime moisturiser (with SPF) for all skin types but two nighttime moisturisers that are skin-type specific?

As a part of creating a more streamlined collection, we developed single solutions for the CALM cleanser, toner and daytime moisturiser. The CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 combines what customers loved about the original CALM sunscreens into a lightweight, non-greasy option that delivers silky hydration to all skin types. The nighttime moisturisers for normal to dry and oily/combination skin allow customers to further customise their CALM routine. Each can be used in the evening, or for daytime, can be layered under the CALM sunscreen for added hydration and soothing benefits.

What is the difference between the new CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 and CALM Redness Relief SPF 15 Mineral Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin and Normal to Oily Skin?

The original CALM Redness Relief mineral sunscreen for normal/dry skin featured a creamy lotion texture while the CALM Redness Relief sunscreen for oily/combination skin had a lightweight lotion texture. The new CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 has a silky, light cream texture with a sheer finish, suitable for all skin types. It also contains more advanced soothing and calming ingredients to keep sensitive or redness-prone skin protected and comfortable while strengthening the delicate barrier and helping promote a healthier microbiome. While many with normal to dry skin will find this product offers sufficient hydration, those with dry to very dry skin may prefer to layer a product such as our CALM Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer underneath. Note: The CALM Redness Relief SPF 15 Mineral Moisturizer for Normal to Dry Skin, which is being discontinued, shares the same formula with the SKIN RECOVERY Daily Moisturizing Lotion SPF 15.

While both options are great for broad-spectrum protection and skin-defending antioxidants, the CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 is our gentlest, most soothing mineral sunscreen ideal for those primarily concerned with comforting their complexion. The calming formula has a light cream texture with a sheer finish. It’s suitable for all skin types including ultra-sensitive and those with rosacea. The RESIST Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 is a mineral sunscreen formulated to counter signs of premature ageing while gently evening skin tone with a subtle tint. It’s ideal for those seeking a matte-finish mineral sunscreen with a robust blend of antioxidants that boost skin’s environmental defences and promote a youthful appearance.

Is the CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 good for breakout-prone skin?

Mineral sunscreens can be a great option for most people with breakout-prone skin; however, we cannot guarantee this won't trigger breakouts since this is a highly individualised response dependent on several factors other than skin care products. The CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 contains three non-fragrant plant oils for barrier support and antioxidant protection, these oils are present in amounts that are unlikely to clog pores. You’ll find this SPF feels moisturising, not slick or greasy. As a mineral-based moisturiser with sunscreen, we can assure you this formula is non-sensitising and won't worsen breakout-related redness.

Can I use the CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 around my eyes?

Yes. Mineral sunscreens such as the CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 15 are unlikely to irritate delicate skin, making them a great option for use around the eye area. Just be sure not to apply too close to the lash line to avoid the formula spreading into the eyes.

Is it really okay to apply makeup over my sunscreen? I want to be sure I get maximum protection.

Yes. While we typically recommend sunscreen as your last daytime skin care step, applying makeup over top is fine if you're following these simple steps: 1) Wait 3–5 minutes for the sunscreen to set before applying your foundation. 2) Apply the foundation in smooth, downward motions, no rubbing back and forth. 3) Do not use excess pressure or over-blend when applying makeup. 4) We also recommend opting for a foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturiser that contains sunscreen too. Layering sunscreens with the same SPF actives is a great way to ensure maximum protection.
